Biography

Emine Erdağ, as one of the strong representatives of contemporary sculpture, shapes her artistic practice by interpreting her personal experiences in a social context. Born in Konya in 1998 and originally from Diyarbakır, the artist discovered her interest in art at an early age and began her artistic journey with the painting and wood burning training she received in Istanbul.

Erdağ graduated from Düzce University, Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, Department of Sculpture and deepened his art theory and practice by taking his academic education to the master's level. The artist, who generally prefers wood in his works, creates his works by drawing inspiration from his own life, while bringing together individual and social dynamics in an original style.

Having participated in many national and international exhibitions throughout her artistic life, Emine Erdağ was deemed worthy of the Achievement Award in the Sculpture category with her work titled “Border 2” at the 76th State Painting and Sculpture Competition organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2023. At the same time, with her commitment to art education, she continues to inspire young artists by teaching in various institutions and workshops.

Emine Erdağ, who shapes art as a form of aesthetics and expression without any boundaries, continues to draw the audience into a deep narrative with each of her new works.
